Flood

I am addressing an emergency preparedness in the event if a flood would occur. Floods can be caused by an excessive amount of rain and by the rising levels of water in rivers, lakes, and oceans. In our case in Evanston we would more than likely get a flood from a storm surge. I will now get into the plan that will keep all of us from harm in this kind of situation.

The perils involved if this situation were to occur are very serious. There is a danger of drowning, or electrocution. If you are outside in this situation you should avoid driving vehicles through the high rising water. If you are in a home or a building of any kind, you should find your way to the high ground. This will allow you to create separation from the water and yourself, also if you can find a flare or anything to create some sort of signal on the high ground that would help so you can get help.

In case of a real situation I would expect my plan to work fairly well because those are the basics of what you need to survive in that situation depending of course on the seriousness of the flood. There is not much I think I could do to better prepare myself for this situation.
